The Roosters secured a 46-10 victory over their biggest rivals, the Tricolours after a back-to-back pre-season challenge win.

Matt French and Leon Te Hau scored the only two tries for the Rabbitohs, while Brett Morris’ team scored nine in rainy conditions at Belmore Oval.

Meli Nasau scored the first try, followed by Turoa Williams. Corey Ross scored the next try, and Salesi Foketi burst onto a pass from dummy-half Benaiah Ioelu.

Kyron Fekitoa finished a smart backline play in the second half, and Callum Gromek scored a smart double. Michael Coleman and Emery Jolliffe also contributed to the scoresheet.

Braidon Burns, a veteran with two years with Canterbury, could play a part in the back five this season.

He set up a try and ran for over 100 meters while playing as a fullback. The Roosters have several players feared across the competition, but Trent Robinson could have another player on his hands in backrower Corey Ross.

Ross put his “body on the line” before scoring a four-pointer, and league legend Greg Alexander hailed him for his courage.

Fullback Callum Gromek scored an impressive try double, having been recruited out of the Wollongong first-grade competition.
