Hunter Street station is being built as part of the Sydney Metro West line, which runs through the CBD and connects to existing rail networks at Central and Redfern. Construction is continuing through the second half of 2026, with structural work on the platform level well advanced.
The station design incorporates accessibility features including lifts, escalators, and tactile guidance paths. The design follows the same specifications used on the Metro North West Line, ensuring consistency across the network.
Sydney Metro West will connect to the existing Sydney Metro network at several points.
