The Sydney NRL Grand Final 2026 is approaching, with both teams locked in final preparation. Here is the match preview and the key battles that will decide the outcome.
Both sides have navigated a demanding finals series to reach the grand final. The Sydney Cricket Ground will host the match, with a capacity of approximately 48,000 for rugby league fixtures. Ticket sales have opened, with general admission starting at competitive rates and premium seating available at the SCG's best vantage points.
The teams have shown contrasting styles throughout the finals series. One side has relied on defensive solidity and tactical discipline, while the other has favoured attacking flair and speed through the middle. The grand final will likely be decided by which team can impose its game plan on the day.
The front-row battle will be crucial, with both teams fielding experienced props who can set the tone in the early minutes. The halves pairing will determine the tempo, with the dummy half's decision-making under pressure separating the sides. The edge defence will also be tested, as both teams have shown vulnerability on the flanks during the finals series.
The bench depth will be tested in the final 20 minutes, where fresh legs and tactical substitutions can shift the momentum. Both coaches have indicated they will rotate their squads strategically, with the interchange players expected to play a significant role.
