Sydney commuters face major delays across the rail and bus network as construction works and maintenance continue to impact services across the city.

Sydney commuters face major delays across the rail and bus network as construction works and maintenance impact services. Transport for NSW has issued warnings about extended travel times across the metropolitan area.
The T3 Bankstown Line conversion continues to affect services across the western corridor. The stations at Lakemba, Wiley Park, Punchbowl, and Bankstown remain closed for conversion works, with replacement bus services operating between affected stops. Commuters travelling through the Inner West are experiencing extended journey times of up to 30 minutes beyond normal schedules.
Sydney Trains has confirmed that the T1 Western line is also experiencing delays due to maintenance works between Central and Redfern. The works are part of the ongoing infrastructure upgrade programme, which includes signalling improvements and track maintenance. The Sydney Metro City Southwest extension is unaffected, with trial runs scheduled to begin in October.
Bus services across the metropolitan area are experiencing delays due to road works associated with the Western Sydney Airport development and the Fifteenth Avenue Upgrade. The $1.0 billion road project between Liverpool and the airport is in its final stages of construction, affecting traffic flow in the surrounding areas.
Ferry services across Sydney Harbour are operating on reduced schedules due to maintenance. The Manly and Parramatta River ferry services are particularly affected, with commuters advised to allow additional travel time.
Transport for NSW has advised commuters to check the Transport Info app before travelling and to allow additional time for their journeys. The Transport for NSW publishes real-time service updates and disruption information. The Transport Info app provides live departure times and service alerts.
